3000ft is a sculptural fibre piece created with six skeins of kitchen twine, acrylic paint, and white glue. Four towers of multiple heights were coated with the mixed liquid media and wrapped around a cylinder. The work's materiality is then extended beyond fibre to the dried paint-glue medium instead, adhesive leading to form.
This work was produced as a response to a prompt of creating a sculpture out of 100 objects. The object framed by the work is a unit of measurement, rather than material.
